The Categories

There are 12 categories to choose from this year, each of which has been chosen to reward a particular aspect of sustainability and CSR.

Sustainability Specific Category

For organisations demonstrating development and progress in the local community. These initiatives can include: youth engagement, disability-focuses programmes, social entrepreneurship, poverty alleviation, gender diversity and cultural programmes.

Sustainability Specific Category

For initiatives that promote education around sustainability through training of employees, community and other stakeholders, and for initiatives raising awareness of the importance of sustainability across the wider community.

Sustainability Specific Category

For organisations with policies that show respect and regard for employees. This includes policies promoting diversity in the workplace, family-friendly policies, regard for work-life balance, health and wellness.

Sustainability Specific Category

This award celebrates marketing campaigns for profit or non-profit goods and services which highlight the importance, or build awareness, of a particular social cause.

Sustainability Specific Category

For initiatives that focus on protecting and preserving the environment and address pressing issues such as: the prevention of pollution, sustainable use of resources, green procurement and supply chain; management of environmental footprint, and protection of the environment and biodiversity.

Sustainability Specific Category

For initiatives that have caused an organisation’s culture to become more sustainable. This could involve the engagement of employees, private sector and/or the general public.

Sustainability Specific Category

For an organisation or individual developing and/or applying the latest technology to achieve environmental benefits, going beyond current best practice. This could include energy or water savings, waste reduction, reduced environmental impact, or resource recovery alternatives to landfill.

Sustainability Specific Category

For initiatives that deliver high-quality education through skills training of employees, community and other stakeholders. These initiatives can address: access to quality education, development of higher skill levels, illiteracy reduction programmes, inclusion of women in education, development/improvement of educational facilities and technologies, promotion of teacher training, and promotion of academic learning through partnerships.

Sustainability Specific Category

This award recognises businesses or organisations that have embedded environmental, social and financial sustainability into their business model. Successful entries will have identified the resource risks in their supply chain and made the changes needed to guarantee operational resilience.

Sustainability Specific Category

For companies or individuals that practise good water/waste management, apply innovative approaches to reduce water usage or waste generation, or organise water-centric programmes for the community.

People Category

This award is for a team that has been part of a successful CSR or sustainability initiative.

People Category

This award recognises the work of a CSR/sustainability professional who uses a range of skills to drive forward to CSR/sustainability agenda by securing tangible improvements.

Overall Winner

This award goes to the finalist with the highest overall score.
