Dubai-based Coffee Planet plants new sustainability goals

Coffee Planet is going to plant a tree for every purchase of their latest compatible, biodegradable Nespresso capsules. The company recently launched the Plant a Tree Project, which is a part of the Eden Reforestation Project. It is estimated that 150,000 trees will be planted through this initiative.

CEO Robert Jones was excited to announce this news: a relatively small contribution to the big picture, but a contribution nonetheless When you consider how many new sustainability initiatives are being announced in the Gulf, you realise that it all adds up!

For the past decade, Coffee Planet has been fully certified by UTZ, a part of the Rainforest Alliance that supports sustainable farming of coffee, tea, cocoa and hazelnuts. The company is also in a 15-year-long partnership with ENOC, helping them spread to 200 new locations throughout the UAE.

This initiative came in the wake of the company's fight to reach pre-Covid success levels and the kind of results they had before the pandemic. Despite the difficulties, Coffee Planet has managed to keep 99% percent of existing customers and has seen their customer base grow by approximately 15%.
